The Elephanta Island, named by the Portuguese after a statue of an elephant, is home to magnificent rock-cut caves dedicated to Lord Shiva. A guide will take you back in time explaining the rock formations and their existence. The one-hour boat ride from Gateway of India provides a splendid glimpse of the Arabian Sea and the Mumbai skyline.
